The third and fourth games of the Phillies/Cardinals series earned solid numbers for TBS.
Tuesday’s Game 3 between the Phillies and Cardinals earned a 3.1 U.S. rating and 4.617 million viewers on TBS, up 19% in ratings and 9% in viewership from the comparable game on the fifth day of last year’s postseason (SF/ATL G3: 2.6, 4.238M). There was comparable game in 2009.
Last year’s game aired on a Sunday afternoon in an earlier timeslot (4:30 PM).
The next day, Game 4 of the series scored a 3.0 and 4.507 million viewers, flat in ratings and down 3% in viewership from the comparable game on the sixth day of last year’s postseason (SF/ATL G4: 3.0, 4.667M), and down 6% and 13%, respectively, from 2009 (PHI/COL G4: 3.2, 5.204M).
The 2010 and 2009 games aired on Monday evenings. Last year’s game aired in a later timeslot (7:30 PM).
Games 3 and 4 rank as the two most-viewed games of the postseason that did not involve the Yankees.
In Philadelphia, Game 3 drew a 21.6 rating and Game 4 scored a 21.3. In St. Louis, Games 3 and 4 drew ratings of 20.4 and 19.2, respectively.
