For the first time all season, CBS had an increase in overnight ratings for NFL coverage.
The Week 5 NFL national window, featuring Jets/Patriots, earned a 15.6 overnight rating on CBS Sunday — up 7% from last year (TEN/DAL*: 14.6), and up 9% from 2009 (NE/DEN*: 14.3).
This marks the highest overnight of the season for the NFL on CBS.
Additionally, this is the first time all season that CBS has had an increase in overnight ratings for an NFL telecast window. The network’s first six telecasts were either flat or down from last year.
The national window topped all NFL telecasts in the overnights during Week 5, just the second time this season that has occurred.
Overnight ratings for the first game of the network’s Sunday doubleheader were not available.
