Airing directly opposite Yankees/Tigers for nearly two hours, Sunday’s Diamondbacks/Brewers Game 2 earned the smallest audience ever for an MLB postseason game on Turner Sports.
Game 2 between the Diamondbacks and Brewers earned a 1.3 U.S. rating and 2.132 million viewers on TBS Sunday evening, down 58% in ratings and viewership from the comparable game on the third day of last year’s postseason (CIN/PHI G2: 3.1, 5.024M), and down 68% and 67%, respectively, from 2009 (MIN/NYY G2: 4.1, 6.484M).
The 2010 and 2009 games aired at 6:00 PM ET on Friday evenings. Versus last year’s comparable Sunday afternoon game (SF/ATL G2: 2.6, 4.238M), Game 2 was down 50% in ratings and viewership.
Keep in mind the game aired opposite the rescheduled Tigers/Yankees Game 2 on TNT (1.9, 2.937M) for nearly two hours.
Sunday’s game earned the smallest audience ever for an MLB postseason game on Turner Sports (66 telecasts). The previous low was set just one day earlier by Rays/Rangers Game 2 on TNT (2.165M).
