After two straight lackluster outings, Monday Night Football returned to form in Week 15 of the season.
The Week 15 edition of Monday Night Football, pitting the 10-3 Steelers against the 10-3 49ers, earned a 10.8 overnight rating on ESPN — even with last year’s Week 15 game (CHI/MIN: 10.8), and up 28% from Week 15 in 2009 (NYG/WSH: 8.4).
Keep in mind the game experienced two power outages, including one that delayed kickoff.
The 10.8 overnight is the fourth-highest of the season for Monday Night Football (sixteen telecasts).
Monday’s solid numbers came on the heels of two straight weeks of mediocre numbers. The Week 13 and 14 editions of MNF drew overnight ratings of 6.9 and 7.0, respectively — both down double-digits from last year’s comparable games.
