An overtime thriller featuring two of the NHL’s highest profile teams scored a big increase in overnight ratings on NBC.
Game 2 of the Capitals/Bruins Stanley Cup playoff series earned a 1.5 overnight rating on NBC Saturday afternoon, up 36% from Coyotes/Red Wings Game 2 last year (1.1), and up 25% from Bruins/Sabres Game 2 in 2010 (1.2).
The 1.5 overnight is tied as the highest for the NHL on NBC on the first weekend of the playoffs since 2009 (PIT/PHI G3: 1.7).
