On a busy sports night, the fourth game between the Spurs and Thunder drew solid numbers for TNT.
Game 4 of the Spurs/Thunder NBA Western Conference Finals drew a 4.9 overnight rating on TNT Saturday night, down 32% from Bulls/Heat Game 4 on a Tuesday night last year (7.2), and down 16% from Lakers/Suns Game 4 on a Tuesday night in 2010 (5.8).
Compared to Game 4 of last year’s Mavericks/Thunder series (5.7), which aired on a Monday night, overnight ratings declined 14%.
With that said, the 4.9 overnight marks a 9% increase compared to the lone Saturday night conference final game last year (DAL/OKC G3: 4.5).
Overnight ratings for Saturday’s Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final on NBC and ‘Baseball Night in America’ on FOX were not immediately available. However, it is likely that Spurs/Thunder easily defeated both telecasts head-to-head.
Locally, Game 4 drew a 28.5 rating in Oklahoma City — up 6% from Mavericks/Thunder Game 4 last year (27.0), but down 5% compared to Thursday’s Game 3 (29.9). Game 4 also drew a 22.2 rating in San Antonio, down 12% from Thursday’s Game 3 (25.3).
