On the strength of another Tiger Woods victory, overnight ratings for the AT&T National soared on CBS.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour AT&T National drew a 4.6 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, up 188% from last year (1.6), and up 142% from 2010 (1.9).
The 4.6 overnight is tied as the highest ever for the five-year old event, matching the mark set in 2009 — the last time Woods won at the event.
Sunday’s overnight did not include television markets Philadelphia (#4), Washington, D.C. (#8), Baltimore (#27) and Columbus, OH (#32) due to severe weather.
Third round action on Saturday drew a 2.2 overnight, up 69% from last year (1.3), and up 57% from 2010 (1.4). The 2.2 is the second-best in the history of the event for third round action, trailing only a 2.6 in 2009.
