The sixth night of the 2012 London Olympics was not quite as hot in the ratings as the previous night, but still managed to eke out an increase over Beijing in 2008.
Tape delayed primetime coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics earned a 20.1 overnight rating on NBC Wednesday night, up 3% from Beijing in 2008 (19.6). Overnights for the comparable night of the 2004 Athens Olympics were not available.
The first Wednesday of the most recent Olympics — the 2010 Winter Olympics from Vancouver — drew a 19.3 overnight.
Wednesday’s telecast marked a 16% decline from Tuesday’s action (24.0), which earned the highest overnight of the Olympics thus far.
