The FedEx Cup continues to produce strong numbers.
Final round coverage of the BMW Championship, the third tournament of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup, drew a 2.6 overnight rating on NBC Sunday afternoon — up 160% from last year (1.0), and up 63% from 2010 (1.6).
The 2.6 overnight is tied with 2009 — the last time Tiger Woods won — as the highest for the final round of the event since 2007 (3.2), another year in which Woods won.
Woods did not win this year’s event, but he and fellow needle-mover Phil Mickelson finished third and fourth, respectively.
Third round action on Saturday drew a 1.8 overnight rating, up 125% from last year (0.8), and up 39% from 2010 (1.3).
