Despite featuring an upset of the #2 team in the country, Saturday’s college football action on FOX declined from the previous week.
Saturday’s USC/Stanford college football game drew a 2.5 final rating and 3.856 million viewers on FOX, down 11% in ratings and 10% in viewership from Nebraska/UCLA the previous week (2.8, 4.3M), but up 108% and 112%, respectively, from Hawaii/USC two weeks ago (1.2, 1.823M).
The game finished behind both “Saturday Night Football” on ABC (3.2, 4.977M) and Florida/Tennessee on ESPN (3.1, 5.076M) Saturday night.
With that said, the gap between FOX and ABC narrowed considerably. In week one of the season, “Saturday Night Football” topped college football on FOX by 300%. After taking week two off to accommodate NASCAR, ABC topped FOX by only 28% on Saturday.
