Coming off a pair of stinkers in Week 1, ESPN got a much needed bounce for Monday’s game between the Broncos and Falcons.
The Week 2 Broncos/Falcons “Monday Night Football” game earned a 10.0 U.S. rating and 15.514 million viewers on ESPN, up 28% in ratings and 30% in viewership from Rams/Giants in Week 2 last year (7.8, 11.922M), and up 6% and 3%, respectively, from Saints/49ers in 2010 (9.4, 15.120M).
The game ranks as the highest rated and most-viewed Week 2 “MNF” telecast since Eagles/Cowboys in 2008 (11.3, 18.608M).
To put Monday’s numbers in perspective, both games of the Week 1 Monday night doubleheader drew fewer than 11 million viewers.
Through Week 2, “Monday Night Football” is averaging an 8.1 U.S. rating and 12.410 million viewers on ESPN.
