A lengthy rain-delay helped provide a lift for Game 3 of the NLCS on FOX.
Game 3 of the Giants/Cardinals National League Championship Series drew a 3.1 overnight rating on FOX Wednesday, down 48% from Rangers/Tigers Game 3 last year (5.9), and down 18% from Phillies/Giants Game 3 in 2010 (3.8).
Last year’s game aired in primetime.
Game 3 may have benefited from a 3 1/2 hour rain-delay. From 4:00-6:45 PM ET, the game averaged an ugly 2.9 overnight. From 10-10:45 PM, after play resumed, the game averaged a 3.8.
Final ratings/viewership were not immediately available for Game 2 of the series on Monday night.
