SEC action topped the charts during week seven of the college football season.
Last Saturday’s South Carolina/Louisiana State college football game drew a 3.7 U.S. rating and 5.978 million viewers on ESPN, up 68% in ratings and 67% in viewership from Florida/Auburn last year (2.2, 3.571M), but down 14% and 18%, respectively, from Ohio State/Wisconsin in 2010 (4.3, 7.271M).
The game earned the top college football audience of week seven, topping second-place finisher Stanford/Notre Dame on NBC (3.3, 5.2M).
Overall, South Carolina/LSU ranks as the top college football telecast on ESPN or ESPN2 since LSU/Mississippi State in September 2011 (4.0, 6.250M).
In other college football action last Saturday, ESPN drew a 1.4 and 2.090 million viewers for the Noon ET Iowa/Michigan State game — down a whopping 58% and 56%, respectively, from Michigan/Michigan State last year (3.3, 4.777M).
Over on ESPN2, the primetime Tennessee/Mississippi State game led the Saturday slate with a 0.7 and 1.059 million viewers, followed by Boston College/Florida State (0.4, 672K) and Northwestern/Minnesota (0.4, 646K).
