With the undefeated Falcons facing the always high-profile Cowboys, it is no surprise that NBC earned strong numbers for the latest edition of “Sunday Night Football.”
The Week 9 edition of “Sunday Night Football,” pitting the Cowboys against the Falcons, earned a 14.5 overnight rating on NBC — up 2% from Ravens/Steelers last year (14.2), and up 17% from Cowboys/Packers in 2010 (12.4).
The 14.5 overnight is the fourth-highest of the season on NBC (ten telecasts), behind only Steelers/Broncos (18.0) and Cowboys/Giants (16.5) in Week 1 and Giants/Eagles in Week 4 (15.6).
Keep in mind the New York (#1) and Philadelphia (#4) markets were excluded due to the aftereffects of Hurricane Sandy.
Despite the strong numbers, Sunday’s telecast trailed the Steelers/Giants national window on CBS (15.9).
