CBS and Turner Sports will use some of their recent acquisitions on coverage of the upcoming NCAA Tournament.
Turner Sports’ Rachel Nichols and CBS Sports’ Doug Gottlieb will contribute to coverage of the NCAA Tournament on CBS/Turner Sports, it was announced Monday.
Nichols will serve as a sideline reporter alongside Verne Lundquist and Bill Raftery. Gottlieb, meanwhile, will work games with Spero Dedes during the first week of the tournament and join Greg Gumbel, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Greg Anthony in the studio during the second week.
Nichols and Gottlieb both left ESPN within the past year to join Turner and CBS, respectively.
Also joining NCAA Tournament coverage this season is Allie LaForce of CBS Sports Network.
The rest of the NCAA Tournament broadcast line-up remains generally the same as in previous years. Jim Nantz, Clark Kellogg and Steve Kerr will call the Final Four and National Championship Game for the third straight year. One new wrinkle is that Marv Albert and Kerr will call the first night of ‘First Four’ instead of Nantz, Kellogg and Kerr.
