Though it was not as big a draw as Game 1 the previous week, the fourth game of the Stanley Cup Final earned good numbers on NBC.
Game 4 of the Blackhawks/Bruins NHL Stanley Cup Final drew a 4.6 overnight rating on NBC Wednesday night, up 229% from Devils/Kings Game 4 on NBC Sports Network last year (1.4), and the second-highest overnight for a non-clinching Stanley Cup Final telecast since Stars/Devils Game 5 in 2000 (5.3).
Only Bruins/Blackhawks Game 1 a week earlier (4.8) drew a higher overnight.
The 4.6 is also the highest overnight for a Game 4 in the Stanley Cup Final on broadcast since Red Wings/Devils Game 4 on FOX in 1995 (4.7). Overnights were not available for games on cable — though it is highly unlikely that any game on cable came even close.
Locally, Game 4 drew a 28.9 rating in Boston — up 23% from Bruins/Canucks Game 4 on Versus in 2011 (23.6). The game also drew a 22.0 in Chicago.
