A record-low audience tuned into the UFC on FOX Saturday night.
The eighth edition of the UFC on FOX earned a 1.5 final rating and 2.4 million viewers last Saturday, up a tick in ratings but down 2% in viewership from the comparable summer telecast last year (1.4, 2.4M), and down 32% and 36%, respectively, from the network’s most recent UFC telecast in April (2.2, 3.7M).
The telecast ranks as the least-viewed mixed marital arts telecast ever on broadcast television, finishing barely behind a May 2012 telecast (2.42M to 2.38M).
The 1.5 rating is tied as the second-lowest ever for a mixed-martial arts event on broadcast TV.
Of note, three of tour four least-viewed mixed marital arts telecasts on broadcast have taken place in July or August.
Despite the record-low number, the UFC helped FOX win the night among adults 18-49 and 18-34 and men 18-49 and 18-34.
