After a strong start, “Thursday Night Football” dipped in Week 4 of the season.
The Week 4 49ers/Rams “Thursday Night Football” game drew a 4.9 U.S. rating and 7.6 million viewers on NFL Network September 26, down 6% in ratings and viewership from Ravens/Browns last year (5.2, 8.1M).
The game ranks as the lowest rated and least-viewed of the season on NFL Network (does not include this Thursday’s Bills/Browns game).
The first two games on NFL Network this season topped a 5.0 rating and eight million viewers.
Despite the dip in Week 4, NFL Network has gotten off to an exceptional start this season. According to Sports Business Daily, the net’s Thursday night games have averaged 5.5 rating and 8.6 million viewers, up 8% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (5.0, 7.9M).
