CBS scored a pair of increases for NFL action during Week 7 of the season.
The Week 7 NFL national window, featuring Ravens/Steelers, earned a 14.8 final rating and 25.3 million viewers on CBS Sunday — up 6% in ratings and 10% in viewership from coverage featuring Jets/Patriots last year (14.0, 23.0M), and up 1% and 4%, respectively, from coverage featuring Packers/Vikings on FOX in 2011 (14.6, 24.3M).
The telecast ranks as the lowest rated and least-viewed NFL national window of the season, and the first to dip below a 15.0 rating. For the first time all season, the NFL national window was not the top NFL telecast of the week — trailing the Broncos/Colts “Sunday Night Football” game on NBC (15.9, 26.9M)
With that said, the telecast continued a strong start to the season. Through Week 7, every NFL national window has had an increase in ratings and viewership compared to last year, and six of the seven have had increases over 2011.
Earlier in the day, regional action on CBS drew an 8.7 rating and 13.9 million viewers — up 68% in ratings and 72% in viewership from last year (5.2, 8.1M), and up 6% and 7%, respectively, from coverage featuring Falcons/Lions on FOX in ’11 (8.2, 13.0M).
