In a week where CBS, NBC and ESPN each had increases, FOX suffered its first decline of the season.
The Week 7 NFL singleheader window, featuring Cowboys/Eagles, earned a 10.8 final rating and 18.2 million viewers on FOX — down 9% in ratings and 4% in viewership from coverage featuring Washington/Giants last year (11.8, 18.9M), but 11% and 15%, respectively, from coverage on CBS in 2011 (9.7, 15.8M).
The telecast was the first of the season on FOX to have a decline. Only one other Week 7 telecast dropped from last year — the Thursday night game on NFL Network.
As is typical, the NFL singleheader has been a better draw on FOX than on CBS. The four FOX telecasts have drawn ratings between 10.8 and 12.8, while the three on CBS have earned between an 8.2 and 9.9.
