A rematch of last year’s NBA Eastern Conference Finals earned good numbers on ESPN.
Wednesday’s Heat/Pacers NBA regular season game drew 3.3 million viewers on ESPN, down 14% from Heat/Bulls last year (3.9M), but up 142% from Magic/Knicks in 2012 (1.4M). Keep in mind last year’s Heat/Bulls game marked the end of Miami’s historic 27-game winning streak.
Though down from last year, Heat/Pacers ranks as the season’s sixth-most viewed NBA game on cable and the third-most viewed on ESPN. Including ABC games, 10 of the top 15 NBA games this season have involved the Heat.
Later in the night, the Grizzlies/Jazz nightcap had just 1.3 million viewers — down 16% from Nets/Blazers last year (1.5M).
