Just like the opener, Game 2 of the NBA Finals tied a five-year low in the overnights.
Game 2 of the Heat/Spurs NBA Finals drew a 10.2 overnight rating on ABC Sunday night, even with the same match-up last year, down 14% from Heat/Thunder in 2012 (11.8), and tied as the lowest Game 2 overnight since 2009.
Thursday’s Game 1 also tied a five-year low in the overnights, but the final numbers ranked among ABC’s highest for an opener since acquiring rights to the league.
Overall, Sunday’s 10.2 overnight is tied as the second-lowest for any NBA Finals game since 2009 — ahead of only last year’s Game 3. With that said, the 10.2 is also tied as the highest ever for a Game 2 of the NBA Finals involving the Spurs.
Game 2 earned a 30.7 rating in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale, up 3% from last year (29.7) and up 1% from 2012 (30.3). In San Antonio, the game drew a 39.5 rating — up 21% from last year (32.7) but down 8% from Cavaliers/Spurs in 2007 (42.9).
