The Browns appear to be moving the needle quite a bit, at least in the preseason.
Monday’s Browns/Washington NFL preseason game earned a 4.8 overnight rating on ESPN, which according to Sports Business Daily is the second-highest ever for a preseason game on the network. The network’s highest overnight was a 5.5 for a Vikings/Texans game in 2009.
The near record comes just over a week after the Browns attracted the largest preseason audience in the history of NFL Network (2.8M).
The game earned a higher overnight than Chiefs/Panthers on FOX one night earlier (4.1).
