On a busy Saturday night of college football, UCLA/Texas could not keep up with last year’s comparable game.
The UCLA/Texas college football game drew a 2.1 overnight rating on FOX, down 13% from Ohio State/Cal last year (2.4) and down 16% from USC/Stanford in 2012 (2.5). Head-to-head, the game finished just behind Tennessee/Oklahoma on ABC (2.2) but tied Purdue/Notre Dame on NBC.
As should be no surprise, UCLA/Texas was no match for Michigan State/Oregon on FOX a week earlier (4.0). It did, however, finish well ahead of the FOX season debut between Fresno State and USC (0.9).
Earlier in the day, Illinois/Washington drew a 1.0 overnight — easily the lowest of the weekend for college football on broadcast TV. There was no comparable afternoon game last year.
