ABC just barely edged its competition with Tennessee/Oklahoma Saturday night.
The Tennessee/Oklahoma Saturday Night Football game drew a 2.2 overnight rating on ABC, down 29% from Notre Dame/Purdue last year (3.1) and down 33% from Notre Dame/Michigan State in 2012 (3.3). The 2.2 overnight was the highest of the Saturday night games, edging UCLA/Texas on FOX (2.1) and Purdue/Notre Dame on NBC (2.1).
With that said, the 2.2 overnight is also tied as the fourth-lowest ever for Saturday Night Football (100 telecasts dating back to 2006).
Earlier in the day, Arkansas/Texas Tech drew a 1.9 overnight — down 14% from Tennessee/Oregon last year (2.2) and even with regional action in 2012. The Noon ET regional window also drew a 1.9, down 30% from UCLA/Nebraska last year (2.7) and down 41% from Cal/Ohio State in 2012 (3.2).
