The final game of the Michigan/Notre Dame rivalry — at least for the time being — hit a seven-year low in the overnights.
The Michigan/Notre Dame college football game drew a 3.0 overnight rating on NBC Saturday night, down 6% from Michigan State/Notre Dame in the afternoon last year (3.2) and down 20% from Michigan/Notre Dame in 2012 (4.0). The 3.0 overnight also marks a 43% decline from last year’s Notre Dame/Michigan game, which aired on ESPN (5.6).
The 3.0 overnight for Saturday’s game is the lowest in the Michigan/Notre Dame rivalry since 2007, when the game aired in the afternoon on ABC, and the second-lowest for the rivalry since it resumed in 2002. Notre Dame won Saturday’s game in a 31-0 rout.
Michigan/Notre Dame was topped head-to-head by Michigan State/Oregon on FOX (4.0) and finished only barely ahead of Virginia Tech/Ohio State on ESPN (2.9).
