Overnight ratings dipped, but were relatively strong, for the Red River Rivalry.
The Texas/Oklahoma college football game drew a 3.3 overnight rating on ABC Saturday afternoon, down 11% from last year (3.7), down 6% from 2012 (3.5), and tied as the lowest for the annual rivalry game since at least 2001.
Despite the lower numbers, Texas/Oklahoma earned the second-highest college football overnight of the weekend. The only game to do better was Auburn/Mississippi State on CBS (3.8).
Later in the day, regional action featuring TCU/Baylor in 83% of markets drew a 2.7 overnight — up 8% from regional coverage last year (2.5) and down 10% from 2012 (3.0). Baylor’s high-scoring win faced Auburn/Mississippi State head-to-head, as well as unbeaten Notre Dame on NBC (2.3) and UCLA/Oregon on FOX (1.4).
