After tying one of the season’s five best overnights, Sunday’s NFL national window did not rank as highly in the final count.
The Week 12 NFL national window, featuring Dolphins/Broncos in 83% of markets, drew a 15.5 final rating and 26.4 million viewers on CBS — down 5% in ratings and 6% in viewership from Cowboys/Giants on FOX last year (16.4, 27.9M) and up 3% and 6%, respectively, from coverage on FOX featuring 49ers/Saints in 2012 (15.0, 24.9M).
The telecast earned the season’s third-highest rating and viewership on CBS, trailing only the national window in Week 9 (16.8, 29.1M) and Week 3 (15.8, 27.3M). Both of those telecasts also featured the Broncos.
With the other networks included, it is tied for sixth-place in ratings and ranks seventh in viewership — respectable but down a bit from the overnight, which was tied as the fourth-highest.
UPDATE 12/1: Originally, this post reported that the national window drew a 14.9 and 25.3 million viewers. That data reflected live viewing, not the live+same day viewership that is usually reported.
Final ratings and viewership were not immediately available for the early doubleheader window, which was down 5% in the overnights to a 10.3.
