NBC finished its Notre Dame season with a second-straight increase in overnight ratings.
The Louisville/Notre Dame college football game drew a 2.2 overnight rating on NBC Saturday afternoon, up 29% from both BYU/Notre Dame last year and Wake Forest/Notre Dame in 2012 (1.7 both years). The 2.2 is the highest for NBC’s Notre Dame season finale since a primetime game against Army in 2010 (2.3).
The game was the second-straight Notre Dame telecast on NBC to have an increase in overnights, and only the third in seven telecasts.
Head-to-head, Notre Dame’s upset loss topped the SEC on CBS (1.9) but trailed ABC’s regional window, which featured Florida State in a close game (3.6). It ranked as the week’s third-highest rated game in the metered markets, behind only ABC’s regional coverage and USC/UCLA (3.3).
