A pair of all-time blowouts went in opposite directions on FOX over the weekend.
The Oregon/Arizona Pac-12 Championship Game drew a 4.2 overnight rating on FOX Friday night, up 282% from Stanford/Arizona State on ESPN last year (1.1), up 27% from Stanford/UCLA on FOX in 2012 (3.3), and the highest overnight in the young history of the game.
The 4.2 also ranks as the season’s highest college football overnight on FOX, topping a 4.0 for Michigan State/Oregon in September.
On Saturday night, the Ohio State/Wisconsin Big Ten Championship Game drew a 3.7 overnight — down 56% from Michigan State/Ohio State last year (8.4) but up 48% from Wisconsin/Nebraska in 2012 (2.5). The 3.7 is the third-highest of the season on FOX, trailing Friday’s game and Michigan State/Oregon.
Both games were blowouts, with Oregon crushing Arizona by 38 points and Ohio State unleashing a 59-0 drubbing of Wisconsin. However, while Friday’s game faced little competition, Saturday’s game was nearly doubled head-to-head by the Florida State/Georgia Tech ACC Championship on ABC (6.9).
In other action on the FOX family of networks, the Oklahoma/Oklahoma State ‘Bedlam’ game drew a 0.8 overnight on Fox Sports 1. The network did not air a game in the comparable window last year.
