For the fourth time in five weeks, ratings and viewership declined for the NFL’s highest rated TV window.
The Week 14 NFL national window, featuring Seahawks/Eagles in 91% of markets, drew a 15.6 final rating and 25.9 million viewers on FOX — down 4% in ratings and 6% in viewership from coverage featuring Seahawks/49ers last year (16.2, 27.6M) but up 5% and 6%, respectively, from coverage featuring Saints/Giants in 2012 (14.8, 24.5M).
Ratings and viewership for the national window have now declined in four of the past five weeks, though each of the declines have been by single-digits. For the season, nine of the 14 national window telecasts have had declines compared to last year — though only three have had declines compared to 2012.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Colts/Browns in 45% of markets drew an 8.6 final rating and 13.7 million viewers — down 14% in ratings and 17% in viewership from coverage featuring Lions/Eagles last year (10.0, 16.4M) and down 17% and 16%, respectively, from coverage featuring Cowboys/Bengals in 2012 (10.3, 16.3M).
The telecast had season-high declines in both ratings and viewership on FOX.
