Ratings and viewership for the NFL Honors were the highest in the short history of the event.
The 2015 NFL Honors drew a 2.8 final rating and 4.7 million viewers on NBC Saturday night, up 47% in ratings and 49% in viewership from last year on FOX (1.9, 3.1M) and up 8% and 17%, respectively, from 2013 on CBS (2.6, 4.0M). The last time the event aired on NBC, in 2012, it had a 2.2 and 3.5 million.
This year’s NFL Honors ranks as the highest rated and most-watched since the event began in 2012 (four telecasts). The previous high was set in 2013.
Despite the record audience, the NFL Honors was not the top program of Saturday night — trailing a rerun of 48 Hours on CBS (3.8, 5.9M). It did take the top spot among adults 18-49, however, with a 1.2. Compared to Saturday’s other major sporting event, it topped the Duke/Virginia college basketball game on ESPN by 34% in viewership (4.7M to 3.5M) and a more modest 9% among adults 18-49 (1.2 to 1.1).
