Though unable to capitalize on Tiger Woods‘ first appearance there in 14 years, the Phoenix Open held up well on CBS last weekend.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Phoenix Open drew 3.6 million viewers on CBS last Sunday afternoon, down 1% from last year (3.58M to 3.55M) and down 16% from Phil Mickelson‘s win on NBC in 2013 (4.3M). Ratings were not immediately available.
Viewership was the lowest for the final round since 2012 (3.1M). Despite the multi-year low, the final round was the most-watched non-football sporting event last weekend, edging the Duke/Virginia college basketball game on ESPN (3.5M).
On Saturday, third round action drew 2.1 million — down from both last year and 2013 (2.7M) and the lowest since 2012 (1.9M).
