For the third time this season, NBC drew one of the largest audiences ever for a live English Premier League match on U.S. TV.
The Chelsea/Manchester City English Premier League match drew 1.35 million viewers on NBC Saturday afternoon, marking the third-largest audience ever for a live EPL match on U.S. television. Only Arsenal/Manchester United on NBC in November (1.41M) and Manchester United/Chelsea on FOX in 2012 (1.38M) earned a larger audience.
Including Chelsea/Manchester United in October (1.29M), three of the four most-watched live matches have taken place this season alone, all on NBC. A 2012 Manchester United/Arsenal match on FOX rounds out the top five (1.26M).
Keep in mind that several tape delayed EPL matches have earned larger audiences, including a record 1.66 million for a Chelsea/Liverpool match on FOX in 2011.
