CBS and Turner Sports announced the rest of its NCAA Tournament team on Wednesday, with a notable newcomer.
TNT NBA analyst Chris Webber will work alongside Marv Albert and Len Elmore on NCAA Tournament coverage this year, the first time he has been part of the broadcast team for the event. Craig Sager, who will make his return to television Thursday after nearly a year-long absence, will be the sideline reporter.
Webber and Elmore replace Steve Kerr (coaching) as Albert’s partner for the tournament.
Another change this year will be the pairing of Verne Lunquist and Jim Spanarkel. Lunquist previously worked with Bill Raftery, who is replacing the suspended Greg Anthony on the lead team this year. Doug Gottlieb will replace Spanarkel as Ian Eagle‘s broadcast partner.
Kevin Harlan will again work with Reggie Miller, with Dan Bonner joining the duo in a three-man booth. Steve Smith, working his first NCAA Tournament as a game analyst, will replace Bonner as Brian Anderson‘s broadcast partner.
Finally, Mike Gminski will work with Spero Dedes this year after serving as Andrew Catalon‘s partner last year. Catalon will work with newcomer Steve Lappas.
Rounding out the slew of changes is the previously announced lead team of Jim Nantz, Raftery, and Grant Hill. Overall, all eight broadcast teams had at least one change compared to last year.
