Four-Year High For Laettner Doc Premiere
- The premiere of the ESPN 30 For 30 documentary I Hate Christian Laettner drew a 1.6 overnight rating Sunday afternoon, up 46% from Requiem For the Big East last year (1.1) and up a third from Survive and Advance in 2012 (1.2). The 1.6 is the highest for a Selection Sunday documentary premiere on the network since The Fab Five in 2011 (2.0). (via Sports Business Daily)
Uptick For American Athletic Title Game
- ESPN drew a 1.3 overnight rating for the SMU/Connecticut American Athletic Conference championship game Sunday afternoon, up a tick from Connecticut/Louisville on a Saturday evening last year (1.2). The 1.3 marks a 38% decline from the Louisville/Syracuse Big East championship in 2013, the last before the conference rebranded as the AAC. - The VCU/Dayton Atlantic-10 Tournament championship game drew a 1.2 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, down 20% from St. Joseph’s/VCU last year (1.5) and even with Saint Louis/VCU in 2013 (1.2).
