Overnight ratings were the highest in four years for the PGA Tour at Houston.
Final round coverage of the PGA Tour Houston Open drew a 2.7 overnight rating on NBC, up 17% from last year (2.3), up 80% from rain-shortened coverage in 2013 (1.5), and the highest for the event since 2011 (2.8).
The 2.7 overnight ranks as the second-highest of the season for any PGA Tour telecast on broadcast, trailing only final round coverage of the Northern Trust Open on CBS (3.0) and topping higher-profile events at Torrey Pines (2.5), Pebble Beach (2.6) and Doral (2.6).
The 2.7 was also the second-highest overnight of the weekend for any non-NCAA Tournament sporting event, trailing only the Bulls/Cavaliers NBA game on ABC (3.4).
Third round action on Saturday drew a 2.0 overnight, up 25% from last year (1.6) and up 43% from 2013 (1.4).
