The NBA Draft Lottery scored its best overnight rating in over a decade.
The NBA Draft Lottery earned a 3.2 overnight rating on ESPN Tuesday night, up 10% from last year (2.9) and the second-highest overnight for the event since it became a standalone show in 2003. Only the 2003 edition, which aired on ABC in primetime, drew a higher overnight (5.1).
The telecast drew a higher overnight than last year’s actual NBA Draft (3.1).
Memphis was the top market for the Draft Lottery with a 5.1 rating, even though the Grizzlies were not involved in the lottery or the Western Conference Finals game that followed. Houston ranked second (5.0), followed by lottery markets Miami (5.0), New York (4.9) and Philadelphia (4.8).
