The NBA’s Western Conference Finals again hit a multi-year high in overnights.
Game 2 of the Rockets/Warriors NBA Western Conference Finals earned a 5.6 overnight rating on ESPN Thursday night, down 5% from Heat/Pacers last year (5.9) but up 47% from Grizzlies/Spurs in 2013 (3.8). Compared to last year’s Thunder/Spurs Game 2 on TNT, overnights increased 27% from a 4.4.
The 5.6 overnight is the highest for Game 2 of the West Finals in at least three years (overnights for Thunder/Spurs Game 2 in 2012 were not immediately available).
The Warriors’ win earned a 15.9 rating in the Bay Area, the market’s second-highest NBA rating since ESPN/ABC reacquired rights to the league in the 2002-03 season (excludes the NBA Finals). The game also had a 15.9 in Houston.
