One of ESPN’s longest-tenured anchors is staying put and adding new responsibilities
ESPN SportsCenter anchor Scott Van Pelt has reached a multi-year contract extension with the network, it was announced Tuesday. Under the agreement, Van Pelt will be the sole anchor of the Midnight ET SportsCenter starting this summer and no longer host his ESPN Radio show SVP & Russillo.
The Midnight SportsCenter, which had already begun experimenting with a new format, will be a mix of highlights, commentary and interviews tailored to Van Pelt.
Van Pelt has been with ESPN since 2001 and most recently extended his contract with the network in 2012.
