The Premier Boxing Champions series was less of a draw in primetime Saturday.
Primetime coverage of the Premier Boxing Champions series drew a 1.5 final rating and 2.3 million viewers on NBC Saturday night, down 17% in ratings and 19% in viewership from the network’s second primetime telecast in April (1.5, 2.3M), and down 29% and 32%, respectively, from the first such telecast in March (2.1, 3.4M).
The telecast ranks third out of the 11 total PBC telecasts on NBC, CBS and Spike, trailing only the two previous primetime windows. Keep in mind the other eight telecasts aired either in the afternoon or on cable. Compared to the most recent edition of the UFC on FOX, ratings were flat and viewership declined 15% from 2.7 million.
Coverage aired directly opposite the third round of the U.S. Open on FOX, which averaged 4.8 million viewers during the primetime portion.
In other recent PBC action, Sunday’s telecast on CBS drew a 0.8 overnight — down a tick from the network’s previous telecast last month (0.9). Coverage on Spike TV drew 446,000 viewers June 12, the network’s smallest PBC audience yet (four telecasts).
