The UEFA Champions League final tied its highest overnight rating since moving to FOX.
The Barcelona/Juventus UEFA Champions League final earned a 1.8* overnight rating on FOX Saturday afternoon, up 50% from Real Madrid/Atletico Madrid last year (1.2), up 80% from Bayern Munich/Dortmund in 2013 (1.0), and tied as the highest for the event since moving to FOX in 2010.
Only Barcelona/Manchester United in 2011 earned as high an overnight. Barcelona’s two appearances in final are the only UEFA Champions League telecasts on FOX to top the 1.5 mark.
The UEFA Champions League final easily topped both games of Sunday’s Women’s World Cup doubleheader on FOX, which earned overnights of 0.8 and 1.0. It also topped coverage of the Premier League Championship Sunday on the NBC family of networks two weeks earlier (1.4).
* ShowBuzz Daily reported that Saturday’s game had a 1.7 overnight, but that number appears to include 15 minutes of pre-match coverage from 2:30-2:45 PM ET.
