NBA TV Has Most-Watched Summer League
- NBA Summer League coverage averaged 110,000 viewers on NBA TV, up 9% from last year and the network’s highest average for the event since becoming Nielsen-rated in 2010. Monday’s Spurs/Suns Las Vegas Summer League championship game drew 140,000 viewers, the highest in the three years a champion has been named (six total games). (Turner Sports)
New NBA Awards Show Tops Comparable Ceremonies
- The inaugural NBPA Players Awards drew 722,000 viewers on BET Tuesday night, with an encore presentation drawing 663,000 immediately afterward. The telecast easily exceeded the NHL Awards on NBCSN in June (116K) and NASCAR’s ceremony on Fox Sports 1 last December (453K), but was no match for the NFL Honors on NBC in February (4.7M). Golf Channel Sets Record For British Open Week
- Golf Channel averaged 105,000 total day viewers during the week of the British Open, up 30% from last year (81K), up 22% from 2013 (86K), and its highest average for shoulder programming of the event since becoming Nielsen rated in 2006. Keep in mind the average does not include coverage on Monday. The network scored its most-watched Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday of British Open coverage. (Golf Channel)
