FOX pulled in a solid overnight for what is traditionally its weakest UFC telecast of the year.
UFC on FOX 16 earned a 1.9 overnight rating on FOX Saturday night, up 19% from the July editions last year and in 2013 (1.6 both years). Compared to the most recent edition of UFC on FOX in April, overnights increased a tick from a 1.8.
The 1.9 overnight is the highest for a summer edition of UFC on FOX (four telecasts), easily topping the previous mark of 1.7 in August 2012.
It also matches the most recent primetime edition of the Premier Boxing Champions series on NBC in June (1.9).
For the weekend, UFC on FOX ranked third among all sporting events on broadcast or cable — trailing only NASCAR on NBCSN (2.9) and the final round of the PGA Tour Canadian Open on CBS (2.1).
