The NFL Hall of Fame Game put up strong numbers on NBC.
The Steelers/Vikings NFL Hall of Fame Game drew a 6.6 final rating and 11.0 million viewers on NBC Sunday night, up 27% in ratings and 29% in viewership from Giants/Bills last year (5.2, 8.5M) and up 7% and 9%, respectively, from Cowboys/Dolphins in 2013 (6.2, 10.1M).
The Vikings’ win ranks as the highest rated and most-watched NFL preseason game in five years — since the Bengals/Cowboys Hall of Fame Game in 2010 (6.8, 11.4M). Other than the 2010 game, no preseason telecast has scored a larger audience since Colts/Broncos on ABC in 2003 (11.2M).
The Hall of Fame Game drew the same rating as last month’s MLB All-Star Game and a slightly larger audience (10.98M to 10.91M). Since the end of the NBA Finals in June, only the FIFA Women’s World Cup final had more viewers (26.7M).
Among adults 18-49, Sunday’s game drew a 3.6 rating — up 29% from last year (2.8) but down 5% from 2013 (3.8).
