The 2015-16 English Premier League season opened with solid numbers on the NBC family of networks.
The Chelsea/Swansea City Premier League match drew a 0.9 overnight rating on NBC Saturday afternoon, up 29% from Arsenal/Crystal Palace last year (0.7) and up a tick from Swansea City/Manchester United in 2013 (0.8).
The 0.9 overnight topped all-but-two of last season’s matches. Arsenal/Manchester United had a 0.9 on NBC last November, and Chelsea/Manchester City drew a 1.0 on the network in January.
In other action, Manchester United/Tottenham drew a 0.5 overnight on NBCSN early Saturday morning — the network’s highest ever for the early Saturday window. Finally, NBCSN and USA Network combined for a 0.6 overnight in the mid-morning window, which featured Bournemouth/Aston Villa on the former and Everton/Watford on the latter.
