Notre Dame’s win over Georgia Tech was no match for their rivalry games against Michigan and Michigan State.
The Georgia Tech/Notre Dame college football game drew a 2.6 overnight rating on NBC Saturday afternoon, down 13% from Michigan/Notre Dame in primetime last year (3.0) and down 19% from Michigan State/Notre Dame in the afternoon two years ago (3.2).
The 2.6 is the lowest for Notre Dame’s second home game of the season — which until this year pitted the team against one of its Michigan rivals — since a 2007 matchup with Michigan State (2.3). On a more positive note, it is also the team’s highest for the first afternoon home game of the season since 2008.
Head-to-head, the game trailed LSU/Auburn on CBS by just a tenth (2.7), but was further back of ABC’s regional window (3.6).
