The PGA Tour’s TV momentum has yet to slow down.
Final round coverage of the Deutsche Bank Championship, the second event of the PGA Tour FedEx Cup, earned 3.0 million viewers on NBC Monday afternoon — up 19% from last year (2.5M) but down 7% from 2013 (3.2M). Ratings were not immediately available.
Rickie Fowler‘s win was the 20th of the past 26 final round telecasts to generate an increase in ratings and/or viewership, with 19 of those 20 having a double-digit increase in one or both measures. Even so, it was the least-watched final round in six weeks — since the Canadian Open in July (2.5M).
Third round action on Sunday drew 2.7 million viewers, up 23% from last year (2.2M) but down 16% from 2013 (3.2M).
