For the second time this season, a surprise blowout involving Utah topped the FOX charts.
Last Saturday’s Utah/USC college football game had a 2.1 final rating and 3.3 million viewers on FOX, the network’s highest rated and most-watched game of the season (nine telecasts). The previous highs were a 1.8 (twice) and 3.0 million for Utah/Oregon in week four.
Excluding conference championship games, the Trojans’ blowout win ranks as the top college football telecast on FOX since Michigan State/Oregon in September of last year (3.5, 6.0M).
Despite the season-high, Utah/USC trailed competing coverage of Ohio State/Rutgers on ABC (3.0, 5.3M). It did top Mississippi/Texas A&M on ESPN (1.75, 2.8M) and Florida State/Georgia Tech on ESPN2 (1.25, 1.9M).
