The latest edition of the Cowboys/Giants rivalry was a softer draw than usual.
The Week 7 Cowboys/Giants NFL national window drew a 15.8 overnight rating on FOX Sunday afternoon, down 10% from coverage featuring the same matchup last year (17.6) but up 4% from coverage featuring Ravens/Steelers in 2013 (15.2).
The 15.8 overnight is the lowest for a Cowboys/Giants game on FOX since Week 13 in 2005, when coverage aired as part of the network’s singleheader (14.3). Overall, it ranks just 15th out of the past 20 Cowboys/Giants games, including those on NBC and ESPN.
For the season, Sunday’s national window ranks fourth out of the seven total — directly in the middle of the road.
The early doubleheader window, featuring Saints/Colts in 56% of markets drew an 8.7 overnight — even with coverage featuring Panthers/Packers last year and down 19% from action on CBS in 2013 (10.7).
